Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we hear most from people exploring retirement planning.
The basics of working with us.
We work primarily with individuals and families who are approaching retirement or already retired. Most of our clients are in their 50s, 60s, and 70s and are looking for a comprehensive plan that covers income, taxes, investments, and estate considerations. That said, we’re happy to have a conversation with anyone who wants to be more intentional about their financial future.
The first meeting is a 60-minute conversation—no sales pitch, no pressure. We want to understand where you are today, what’s on your mind, and what retirement looks like for you. Think of it as a getting-to-know-you session. You talk, we listen.
No. Your initial consultation is completely free and comes with no obligation. It’s simply a chance for us to learn about your situation and for you to see if our approach feels like the right fit.
We don’t have a strict minimum, but our planning process is designed for people who have accumulated meaningful savings and want a coordinated retirement strategy. If you’re unsure whether we’re the right fit, the best thing to do is schedule a call and we’ll be honest with you.
You don’t need to bring anything specific. If you have recent statements from your retirement accounts, that’s helpful but not required. The first meeting is really about understanding your goals, concerns, and timeline. We’ll handle the numbers later.
What we do and how we do it.
T.I.M.E. stands for Taxes, Income, Market, and Estate—the four pillars of every retirement plan we build. Instead of treating each area in isolation, we bring them together into a single, coordinated strategy so nothing falls through the cracks.
Yes. We manage investments as part of your overall plan—not as a standalone service. Your investment strategy is built around your retirement goals, tax situation, and income needs, not the other way around.
During the initial planning process, we typically meet four times over the course of a few weeks. After your plan is in place, we meet at least twice a year for reviews—and you can always reach out in between if something comes up or you just have a question.
Absolutely. Social Security timing and Medicare enrollment are two of the most common topics we work through with clients. We help you understand your options, model different scenarios, and make a decision that fits your broader plan.
Logistics, locations, and next steps.
We have offices across Tennessee in Nashville, Mt. Juliet, Murfreesboro, Hendersonville, and Knoxville. You’re welcome to visit whichever location is most convenient for you.
Yes. Many of our clients prefer meeting over video, especially for ongoing reviews. We use secure video conferencing and the experience is just as personal as meeting in person.
Yes. As a fiduciary, we are legally required to act in your best interest. That means our recommendations are based on what’s right for you—not on commissions, quotas, or product sales.
Just schedule a 15-minute introductory call. We’ll ask a few questions to understand your situation, answer anything that’s on your mind, and if it makes sense to move forward, we’ll set up your first full meeting. No pressure, no obligation.
